BEFRIENDERS CLUB

Befrienders Club, a core programme of CITY, uses the Ministry of Education’s Social Emotional Learning (SEL) framework as a reference. Therefore we have similar objectives: to cultivate and develop 1) self-awareness; 2) social awareness; 3) self-management; 4) relationship management skills; and 5) responsible decision-making. CITY’s Befrienders Clubs provide a friendly environment for children to learn good values, have fun and benefit from mentoring. This is held weekly for two hours in the school premises after school dismissal. During the session, students are given a short teaching on good values, such as respect, commitment and integrity, and activities or games are organised to reinforce these values. CITY also helps them with their homework during the session.
