ABOUT US

CITY Community Services is a member of the Singapore Anglican Community Services, a voluntary welfare organisation with IPC status.

CITY seeks to serve the community by meeting the needs of disadvantaged primary school children, including international students who live and study in Singapore away from their families.  This is done through various ways, through our Befrienders Clubs in schools, fun activities, free tuition classes, camps, outings, sports/ games, career trails, life skills workshops and other enrichment programmes, which are specially customised to the specific needs of the schools.

We are currently serving in 18 primary schools with 18 Befrienders Clubs and three Student Care Centres in three primary schools.  We have 17 Befrienders Clubs and one Sports Befrienders Club.

Mission Statement
CITY stands for “Character in the Young”.
Our mission is to build good character in school children, and to show Christian love by giving practical assistance to those in need.

Objectives
All of CITY’s programmes use the Ministry of Education’s Social Emotional Learning (SEL) framework as a reference.
Therefore we have similar objectives: to cultivate and develop 1) self-awareness; 2) social awareness; 3) self-management; 4) relationship management; and 5) responsible decision-making in the students.

CITY develops all its programmes through this SEL framework.

CITY Team
We have a lean team of full-time staff and depend largely on volunteers to help us run the Befrienders Clubs, activities and programmes.  We do not charge the schools for running the Befrienders Clubs but work together with the respective schools through co-sharing of resources. CITY is funded by St Andrew’s Cathedral and donations.
